Today is a big day for me: my new cookbook TASTING PARIS: 100 Recipes to Eat Like a Local is finally on bookstore shelves everywhere. I’ve poured years of cooking, eating, and writing into this book, and I’m thrilled to share the result with anyone who loves good food and the particular pleasures of Parisian life.
TASTING PARIS collects 100 recipes that capture the most compelling flavors of my beloved city. You’ll find bistro favorites, comforting home-style dishes, fresh contemporary plates, and the international influences that have shaped Parisian tables. The recipes are designed to be approachable for home cooks: clear techniques, realistic ingredient lists, and plenty of options to simplify or elevate a dish depending on your mood and the occasion.
The book is generously illustrated with photography by Nicole Franzen, whose images bring Parisian light, cafés, and market scenes to life. There are food photographs styled by Suzanne Lenzer with assistance from Andie McMahon that show how these recipes look on the plate—inviting, honest, and unmistakably Parisian. Those visuals were essential to creating a cookbook that feels like a walk through the city’s flavors as much as a collection of instructions.

I believe this is my best book yet. Early advance copies have started to make their way to readers, and the feedback has been wonderfully encouraging—readers tell me the recipes feel authentic, practical, and full of the small pleasures that make Parisian food so compelling. I’m grateful to everyone who has helped bring this book to life: editors, photographers, stylists, recipe testers, and readers who trusted me enough to try these dishes at home.
If you’ve followed my work on Chocolate & Zucchini, you’ll recognize the same voice and approach here: a love of seasonal produce, an interest in simple technique, and an emphasis on recipes that suit everyday life. If you want a cookbook that helps you eat like a local—whether you live in Paris, plan to visit, or simply want to bring a little of the city into your kitchen—TASTING PARIS was written with you in mind.
As a thank-you for buying the book, I’ve created a collection of bonus materials to support your cooking: shopping lists, shopping tips, extra recipes, and occasional behind-the-scenes notes. If you purchase the book and sign up, I’ll send those extras to you for free—just register to receive your complimentary content.
I’ll also be doing a few in-person events to meet readers and talk about the book. Right now, I have two confirmed dates: Tuesday, May 15 at the American Library in Paris, and Saturday, June 2 at Interabang Books in Dallas, Texas. I hope to add more events and will share details as they’re finalized. There’s nothing like a live conversation about food and travel, and I’m looking forward to those moments.
