When Jenifer first joined Stay Fit Mom years ago, she learned the basics of macro counting and built habits that have lasted well beyond her initial coaching. But after facing chronic health challenges, juggling two jobs, and frequently traveling for work, she realized something crucial was missing: consistent accountability.

Since returning to coaching in February 2026, Jenifer has lost 10 pounds, rebuilt her confidence, and established a sustainable routine that fits her real life—not just when schedules are easy. Even while managing lupus, Sjögren’s syndrome, spinal arthritis, and a demanding travel schedule, she’s shown that lasting progress comes from steady habits, consistent effort, and having a coach in your corner rather than chasing temporary diets.
Read Jenifer’s story below to learn how macro counting and Coach Cassie’s support helped her feel stronger, healthier, and more confident.

Tell us a little bit about your story. Work? Family?
Jen: I’m 49 and married my high school sweetheart 29 years ago. We’ve built a life I love together and have a 23-year-old son who continues to amaze us with his independence—he moved across the country for college and now lives in Indiana after graduating from Purdue. Watching him thrive makes me proud of the home we created.
We moved from Las Vegas to Pocatello, Idaho in 2015 for my husband’s job, and I’ve been working for the same company as him for almost 12 years. People often ask how we manage spending so much time together, but for us it’s normal—he’s my best friend and biggest supporter. Recently I started helping a close friend with catering at her restaurant in Pocatello, which has been a dream because event planning and catering are my passion and background. I’m busy with two jobs, but I’m grateful to have both.

How did you find Stay Fit Mom and what made you decide to take the leap?
Jen: I started following Stay Fit Mom before 2020 and did my first coaching with them then. I had great success and learned a foundation with macros that I stuck to even after coaching ended. After getting my health more stable for a couple of years, I realized I do best with accountability, so I re-signed for coaching in February 2026.
Your transformation is inspiring! Tell us how much weight/inches you’ve lost.
Jen: Since signing back up in February 2026 I’ve lost 10 pounds. I haven’t measured inches precisely, but I’ve needed new clothes—which felt amazing.

What diets have you tried before and how does macro counting compare?
Jen: Over the years I tried Weight Watchers, Atkins, Keto, Nutrisystem, and more. Some gave short-term results, others didn’t. Learning macro counting gave me a practical, sustainable way to reach my goals. Once I committed to it, I found it much easier to maintain results long term.
How do you fit macro counting into your busy life? Any major changes?
Jen: I’m lucky my husband counts macros too, so we support each other. We travel every other week for work to another office my husband manages in Idaho. The first year we ate out for most meals, but we realized that wasn’t sustainable. Now I meal-prep for travel weeks—breakfasts, lunches, and snacks we can warm up at the office—and we save eating out for a couple of planned meals we can track easily. When we’re home I prep breakfasts and plan dinners with leftovers for lunches. Even on personal trips we pack a cooler and snacks, which helps us stay on track and often costs less than eating out constantly.

How has learning to macro count changed your view of dieting?
Jen: I don’t think of it as dieting anymore. Tracking macros is a habit—even on vacation I log to stay aware of what I’m eating. It makes me prioritize protein and helps me balance meals so I can enjoy treats in moderation and quickly return to my routine afterward.
Besides weight loss, what Non-Scale Victories have you noticed?
Jen: Living with spinal arthritis, lupus, and Sjögren’s has taught me what works for my body. Eating balanced meals reduces inflammation and pain, even if the conditions don’t disappear. I can do more in workouts, my mental health has improved, and I’ve learned to give myself grace on tougher days while still tracking progress and taking photos—most of the time it’s not as bad as I fear.
What’s your favorite Stay Fit Mom recipe?
Jen: Lately we love the Cinnamon Roll Pancake Bowl. I bake it in a 9×13 pan, divide it into five servings, and my husband and I share one as a morning snack with butter and sugar-free syrup—it feels like a daily treat. We also often make the Chicken Parmesan Meatball Bowls, Korean Ground Turkey, and Chili Cheese Sweet Potato Bowls.
Tell us about your experience with Coach Cassie.
Jen: When I rejoined, I hoped for a coach who understood my health challenges. SFM assigned Cassie and I couldn’t have been happier. She relates to my conditions, celebrates my wins, supports me through off weeks, and keeps me accountable. Her enthusiasm and confidence make each check-in encouraging, and that consistent support has been a key part of my progress.
I’m grateful for the SFM community—its challenges, tips, and supportive women helped even when I wasn’t actively coaching. There are many programs out there, but SFM’s structure and community have made a real difference for me, and I look forward to continuing this journey.
Jenifer’s story is a reminder that lasting success isn’t about the perfect diet; it’s about a sustainable approach you can maintain through the realities of work, family, travel, and health concerns. Small, consistent choices add up, and with the right plan and support, meaningful change is possible.
