Weekly Mix: New Music Releases & Featured Tracks

Weekly Mix

This week went by in a blur, but in the best possible way. We drove to South Bend, Indiana for a cousin’s wedding and it turned into a lovely family reunion. A small travel hiccup—the time zone difference—nearly cost us the ceremony, but we caught up in time and spent the weekend celebrating with Connor’s relatives.

Short weekends like this feel like a mini vacation: the change of pace, the chance to see family, and a few quiet moments to slow down. We made time for the simple pleasures—good conversation, familiar faces, and a few new experiences.

We’ve driven past Notre Dame’s campus before, but rarely had the chance to explore. This visit gave me time to appreciate the grounds—beautiful architecture, shaded walkways, and an atmosphere that feels both historic and peaceful. It was a highlight of the trip.

On our way back to the city Saturday afternoon we settled into a relaxed weekend at my in-laws’ place. We enjoyed old-fashioned doughnuts from the new bakery in our neighborhood, took a taxi boat ride on the lake (Marley came along and loved the breeze), and spent quiet hours at home catching up and recharging.

Things I’m Loving This Week

Here are a few favorites from the past week—recipes, wardrobe picks, and small discoveries that have stood out. I’ve kept this list practical and seasonal: easy summer recipes, a few wardrobe staples, and the kinds of treats I keep coming back to.

For everyone who asked about the cobalt dress in the photos: it’s from Nordstrom. It’s comfortable, flattering, and a great pick for summer events when you want something simple but special.

I shared ten quick summer recipes earlier this week—simple, fresh meals that work for weeknights or easy entertaining. They’re the kinds of dishes that showcase seasonal produce and don’t require a lot of fuss.

The roasted radish recipe I mentioned is worth trying if you haven’t enjoyed radishes much raw. Roasting transforms their flavor—milder, slightly sweet, and a great match for burrata or pesto.

My favorite summer tee continues to be a go-to. I have it in three different colors because it’s that reliable: breathable fabric, flattering cut, and easy to dress up or down depending on plans.

When it comes to salmon, I keep returning to one particular preparation that leans on bold flavors and bright accents—think kimchi or poke-style seasonings. It’s an easy way to make salmon feel fresh and exciting without fuss.

Anthropologie has a summer sale right now, and I’m finding it hard to resist. One piece I’ve been eyeing is a beautiful cheese board that would be perfect for summer gatherings and impromptu entertaining.

I also appreciated a short piece about stopping “schedule shaming.” It’s a useful reminder to respect different rhythms and to stop judging how others organize their time—especially during busy seasons of life.

On the food front, a Mediterranean-style pasta salad has been my go-to: bright, herb-forward, and satisfying either warm or chilled. And blondies—especially those studded with berries and almonds—have been calling my name; they look and taste like a seasonal treat worth sharing.

Planning ahead for next week’s menu includes chorizo-steamed clams with shaved fennel and herb salad, a guacamole greens salad with cilantro-lime-jalapeño vinaigrette, and a classic spaghetti all’amatriciana. These recipes are familiar favorites and perfect for late-summer dinners when you want something flavorful and easy to prepare.

Hope you have a great weekend!
