My lychee cocktail spritz is the simplest elevated cocktail you’ll make this season. Each sip is light, bubbly and gently floral, making it ideal for warm afternoons and easy entertaining.
This lychee spritz tastes like something from a boutique bar but comes together in under five minutes—perfect when you want an impressive drink without the fuss.

The first time I tried a lychee cocktail was a lychee martini at Din Tai Fung—and I was instantly hooked.
This spritz is a perfect girls’ night or weekend patio drink: slightly floral, tropical and effortlessly elegant.
why you’ll love this lychee spritz
- Looks and tastes elevated. It feels like a cocktail ordered at a stylish bar but is quick and easy to make at home.
- Light and refreshing. The blend of floral lychee, a hint of citrus and fizzy prosecco makes every sip bright and effervescent.
- Great for entertaining. If you want a unique, pretty cocktail that doesn’t require complicated prep, this spritz is ideal for gatherings.
- Balanced sweetness. Using canned lychee syrup gives flavor and sweetness without making the drink syrupy or cloying.

what are lychees?
Lychee is a small stone fruit native to China with a rough red skin that is peeled away before eating. Inside is a sweet, floral flesh surrounding a pit that must be removed.
You can buy lychees fresh when in season or purchase them canned from many Asian markets. Canned lychees and their syrup are especially handy for cocktails because they add both flavor and sweetness without additional sugar.
Lychees have a lightly floral, tropical character that pairs beautifully with floral liqueurs and bright citrus, which is why they work so well in a spritz.

Ingredients:
- Canned lychees in syrup – provides natural sweetness and lychee flavor
- Fresh lime juice – brightens the drink and balances the sweetness
- Gin – complements the floral notes with subtle botanicals
- Elderflower liqueur – adds a delicate floral dimension
- Prosecco – tops the drink with bubbles for that classic spritz texture
- Fresh mint – a fragrant garnish
- Lime wheel – for garnish and extra zest
- Canned lychees – skewered as garnish

how to make a lychee spritz:
- Fill a wine glass or stemless glass with ice.
- Add lychee syrup from the can, fresh lime juice, gin and elderflower liqueur. Stir gently to combine.
- Top the glass with prosecco and stir lightly to integrate the bubbles.
- Garnish with a sprig of fresh mint, a lime wheel and one or two canned lychees skewered on a pick.

tips for the best lychee cocktail spritz
- Chill your ingredients: Keep the prosecco and other components cold so the drink stays crisp and fizzy.
- Make it lighter with soda water: If you prefer a lighter spritz, top with a splash of soda water for extra effervescence.
- Use canned lychees in heavy syrup: The heavier syrup gives the right balance of sweetness; lychees packed in water or juice will yield a milder flavor.
- Freeze lychees for ice: Frozen lychees make a pretty, functional garnish that keeps the drink chilled without diluting it.
- Always use fresh citrus: Fresh lime juice brightens the flavors and keeps the drink tasting lively.
- Pick a dryer prosecco: A drier prosecco prevents the cocktail from becoming too sweet while preserving the bubbly spritz character.
